We need used padded mailers and bubble wrap.

As we reported in Whistle Stop News, circulation remains strong here at the North Baltimore Public Library.

Part of that figure is due to the increasing demand we have from Interlibrary Loan requests. As this portion of our circulation continues to grow we find that we use more and more supplies.

If you have bubble wrap or used padded envelopes that you would otherwise throw away, we would be extremely grateful if you would drop these items off at the front desk.

You’ll also be doing your part to recycle. Thanks!!!!

 Did you know?...

If you leave the water running while you brush your teeth, you waste about 13 pop cans full.

Recycling one soda can saves enough energy to run your television for three hours.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture reportes, “One acre of forest absorbs six tons of carbon dioxide and puts out four tons of oxygen. This is enough to meet the annual needs of 18 people."

Eighty-four percent of a typical household's waste--including food scraps, yard waste, paper, cardboard, cans, and bottles--can be recycled.

Americans throw away about 40 billion soft drink cans and bottles every year.  Placed end to end, they would reach to the moon and back nearly 20 times.
