The Friends of the North Baltimore Public Library would like to thank everyone that came out to our McDonald’s fundraiser night on Thursday, May 1st. With your support we were able to raise $451!! The proceeds will go to help support programs and the purchase of materials for the library. Thanks again to McDonald’s and to everyone for your support. It is greatly appreciated! Paint Workshop for Adults On Thursday, July 10th at 6:30 pm we welcome certified “Bob Ross” Instructor, Nate Miller. Registration started on June 23rd at the main desk of the library. There is a $10 cost due at the time of registration and class size is limited to 12 people. All the materials to create a 12 x 16 canvas will be provided. In the event that we have more than 12 people register we will have a stand by list in case anyone has to cancel. If there is enough interest in this program we may also do it again in the fall. View and Chew Our FREE art movie for July’s View and Chew will be Paint starring: Owen Wilson. Carl Nargle, Vermont's #1 public television painter who is convinced he has it all: a signature perm, custom van, and fans hanging on his every stroke... until a younger, better artist steals everything (and everyone) Carl loves. The movie will be shown on Thursday, July 17th with a start time of 6 pm at The Virginia Theater (119 N. Main St.). The theater doors will open at 5:30 pm. Concessions will be available for purchase. We look forward to seeing you there. Photo Contest - My Colorful World Now that our tiny canvases have all been turned in, it is time for our next “Color Our World” contest for adults. This time we are doing a photo contest. Stop into the main desk from June 30th thru July 3rd and spin our color wheel. Your spin will be how a color shade is selected. Then you go out into the world and take a picture representing or highlighting your color. Email your photo to cheryl@nbpubliclibrary.org by July 18th. If you have people in your picture be sure they have a photo release signed. They are available on our website or at the main desk. All photos that are submitted will be displayed in the library and on our YouTube Channel beginning on July 21st. Public voting will take place in person and on YouTube until July 25th.
