Park Dist. will be held on Friday, Sept. 26 from 7-9 pm! Illuminate your bike with bright decorations and learn important safety tips for riding at night. Each rider is required to wear a properly fitted helmet and ride a safe, correctly sized bicycle, in working order. This is a recreational ride at a speed comfortable for all riders, roughly 3-miles round trip up the Slippery Elm Trail and back. Young riders that are not able to participate on their own should be in a tow behind trailer or child bike seat, no training wheels allowed. Decorating will occur at 7 pm in the Wolfe Community Room. Adult volunteers are appreciated for decorating assistance. Ride begins shortly after 7:30 pm. Register with this QR code - Book Chatters Book Chatters will be meeting this month on Tuesday, September 23rd at 6:30 pm in the Wolfe Community Room. They will be discussing the title The Great Hippopotamus Hotel by Alexander McCall Smith. Mma Ramotswe investigates sabotage at the struggling Great Hippopotamus Hotel, where guests are getting sick and belongings are disappearing. All are welcome to join us. A list of Book Club books are available at the library and on our website. Don’t forget you can always use Libby and Hoopla to get these titles as well. View and Chew The FREE September View & Chew movie will be the action comedy “Bride Hard” starring Rebel Wilson. When a mercenary group takes a lavish wedding hostage, they have no idea what they are in for as the maid of honor is actually a secret agent. The movie will be shown on Thursday, September 18th with a start time of 6 pm at The Virginia Theater (119 N. Main St.). The theater doors will open at 5:30 pm. Concessions will be available for purchase. We look forward to seeing you there. Edgar Allan Poe Presentation We welcome October with a dramatic presentation of Edgar Allan Poe on the first of the month in the Wolfe Community Room at 6:30 pm. Author, Joshua Rex will share from Poe’s iconic works: The Tell-Tale Heart, The Masque of the Red Death, and The Raven. In addition to the performance, a general discussion of Poe’s background and works will be offered. Audience questions and comments are welcome. Joshua Rex is an author of speculative fiction who is also an historian with an MA from BGSU. Find more information on his website – joshuarex.com. Rex’s books will be available for sale.
